Episode #40: Our Nude Photos (1' 56")

Paul Morris loves taking photos of nude men. He'll
often hire men to pose nude, usually at the end
of the day.

Lately he's been inviting me to join him in these
photo sessions. I really enjoy them. And I think
my photos of men are very different from
his photos of men.

  1. To be honest, of the photos you showed for comparison, I enjoyed Paul's photos more. The reason I enjoyed Paul's photos more was because they showed the whole guy. Now if I were looking at multiple shots of a guy, then yours would probably have more interest. But if I'm only going to look at one or two photos of a guy, I want to see as much of him as I can. I always enjoy seeing the entire guy - head to toe.

  2. I liked your photographs much better. Almost a dark side to them, making them very mysterious, which I find very erotic.

  3. A refreshing departure from all the killing! Very nice. Who is Eladio and where can I see more of him? Is he in any treasure island media videos?

  4. your photographs are obviously better -- more artistically interesting. I don't understand why you're comparing though. You don't need to be so blatant to prove you're a more talented photographer. Are you trying to compete?

  5. Paul takes photos for the porn audience. Ryan takes photos for the artistic audience in my opinion.

  6. these are evil people and should stop all of this. do not suport them. do not view their work. life is to short for this.

  7. Why is one better than the other? - art is an expression, not a contest. We see men differently, focusing on what attracts us to the line, shape, shadow, etc. Enjoy the context, not the contest.

  8. However, I do like Paul's written comments - what a intellectual tease! And I like Ryan's visual sarcasm - where do they teach that in Nebraska?

  9. art is expression...but there's good art and there's bad art. Just like there's good porn and bad porn.

  12. paul's are more like studio shots - yours are like movie stills - you feel there is a story... a mystery maybe...

  13. It's interesting to see the side-by-side comparison tho. I kinda liked it. Even without saying who's belonged to whom, one could see a pattern emerge: Porn vs. Art. (Or Porn and Art.) The difference between the two, which someone once famously said: Lighting and intent.
And I don't think Ryan was trying to say he is a better photographer. Just...he see's the world and the people he shoots differently than Paul. Nothing wrong with that.

    I dig your blog, Sully.
